The two large semicircular palaces. By Gaet Koch, occupy the spot and retain the same form of the exedra of Diocletian’s Bath, large remains of which are visible on the North east side of the square. The large picturesque fountain in the centre, is a modern work by Guerrieri (1885): in the 1911 it was decorated with groups of Najads or Nereids, by Rutelli. The fountain seen by night, when illuminated, has a beautiful effect.
